I enjoyed reading this Rich, something about it, the seagulls and the loss put me in mind of "Shell Story' by George Mackay Brown. As you know I enjoy a redemptive ending and I think there's a deep truth in what this story captures: speaking your name and your story aloud to one listener can change everything. Claire
